Overview

Kerala, a state on India\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s tropical Malabar Coast, has nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s known for its palm-lined beaches and backwaters, a network of canals. Inland are the Western Ghats, mountains whose slopes support tea, coffee and spice plantations as well as wildlife. National parks like Eravikulam and Periyar, plus Wayanad and other sanctuaries, are home to elephants, langur monkeys and tigers.

TERMS & CONDITION

  • Guests are requested to visit hotels websites & hotel reviews before giving permission to Own Kerala for booking the hotels.
  • Own kerala tours will confirm the hotels only after getting the advance payment from guest.
  • Hotels given in the website / offered in the quotation to you is subjected to availability after the realisation of your advance payment.
  • Own kerala tours will book and give almost similar category hotels with your permission, if offered hotels are not available at that time.
  • Hotels once booked can be changed only as per the cancellation policy of hotels. All such cancellation charges will be charged to guest directly.
  • Usually vehicle is available from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm. We never recommend night drive on safety point of view.
  • we provide early / late driving on urgent basis /special cases, but it should be mentioned in the final literary sent to you.
  • In Deluxe houseboat’s, a/c will be operated from 9 pm to 6 am in bed rooms.
  • Houseboat check in time is 12 noon and check out is at 9 am. Houseboat will not make cruise from 5.30 pm to 7.30 am.
  • All guests are requested to give menu to houseboat people before one day in advance to prepare for you.
  • If any complaints related to the quality/service to the house boat, should be raised at the time itself, then only we can rectify and solve.
  • Cancellation of all packages will be applicable as per own Kerala cancellation policy which is shown in the website.
  • There will be a Peak season hike in rate from December 20 to January 10 in every year.
  • Our Liabilities & Limitation: Please note that after the finalization of the Tour/Service Cost, if there any hike in entrance fees of monuments/museums, taxes, fuel cost or guide charges by Government of India the same would be charged as extra.
  • Law & Jurisdiction: For all complaints, suits, claims or disputes of whatsoever nature relating to any products offered by the Travel Planner will be under the exclusive jurisdiction of Court of Ernakulam.

Itinerary

Arrive at Cochin or Madurai, meet our Madurai Tours representative and proceed to Munnar enjoy the scenic beauty & the Blissful waterfalls, high mountains with the low flying clouds passing by. Witness tea gardens spread like a green carpet over hundreds of kilometers, lust green hills, a place so intricate to describe, very low population too far from pollution, most of the covered by Tata tea. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 2 :
MUNNAR

Today after breakfast visit the exotic beauty of this Hill station. Our Madurai tours Drivers are too Friendly enough to guide and take you to all sightseeing. Important sightseeing at Munnar are Mattupatty Dam, Echo Point at mattupattety dam you can enjoy speed boat later visit kundala lake and overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 3 :
THEKKADY

Thekkady is well known for wild life sanctuary and its home for the Great Indian Tigers, wild elephants, boars, deers and more .Thekkady offers a wide program to explore the nature wilderness (optional). On arrival you can go for boating at periyar lake and Overnight stay at Thekkady.

Day 4 :
ALLEPPEY

Alleppey, Venice of East - let us be clear, is not the place for a raucous backwater holiday. There are no rave parties here, no noisy water scooters, and no sellers of trinkets. But for those seeking to undo the stresses of city life and experience a completely new pace, it is the perfect spot to backwater recreations and Overnight stay Alleppey.

Day 5 :
DEPARTURE

Morning after breakfast transfer to Cochin Airport for the onward Journey.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason.

It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.
